One killed in fatal crash in Duluth

One person was killed in a Fatal crash Friday morning in Duluth.

Paul Larson, age 78, of Duluth was pronounced dead at the scene.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a two vehicle accident in the 3700 block of Martin Road in the City of Rice Lake around 8:45 am.

As per the Sheriffs Office:

“A 2005 Toyota Sienna mini van was traveling east bound on Martin Road when it slowed and started to pull over onto the shoulder of the roadway.

The Toyota Sienna then made a U-turn to head west on Martin Road. A 2005 Freightliner flat bed truck that was also traveling eastbound on Martin Road struck the Toyota Sienna on the driver’s side.”

The driver of the Toyota Sienna was transported with serious injuries by Mayo Ambulance to Essentia Hospital in Duluth. Paul Larson was a passenger in the vehicle.

The accident is currently being investigated by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
