Two people displaced by Decker Road fire
Duluth Fire officials have provided details about Sunday night’s structure fire, in a neighborhood behind the Miller Hill Mall.
Crews responded just after 9:15pm Sunday night to the 4300 block of Decker Road, where a single car garage was fully involved in flames. DFD says the fire was encroaching the side of the neighboring home.
Officials say during the initial attack of the flames, the structure’s power supply line broke and caused crews to shift their attack. Minnesota Power was called on scene to de-energize the power line.
No injuries were reported, but two residents were displaced. The American Red Cross is helping in the meantime. Damages are estimated at $65,000, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
