Fire damages shed and home on Barker Drive
At 2:18 PM on Thursday, Duluth Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Barker Drive. An exterior building in the Vintage Acres mobile home community was burning when 10 Engine arrived on scene. The fire, which started in the exterior building and damaged another nearby shed, as well as the home’s exterior, was contained by DFD’s firefighting and did not spread to the interior of the home at the affected address. Two residents are displaced due to the damage to the electric meter on the exterior of the home. Damage to the structure is estimated to be around $25,000.
Duluth Fire Department would like to thank the DPD and Minnesota Power for their assistance in the matter. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Duluth Fire Department’s Fire Marshal’s office.
