Firefighters put out hotspots after 20 acre fire near Ely
Sunday, firefighters worked on putting out hotspots in what’s called mop up operations, after a 20 acre wildfire burned near Ely Saturday.
The fire burned across the Taconite Trail, which still remains closed.
Both the initial fire and the mop up were fought by air and ground crews.
The Morse-Fall Lake Fire Department and the Minnesota DNR were the agencies battling the blaze. The fire was contained Saturday.
