Former Aitkin County resident charged with felony related to pornographic material with minors

Patrick Jennings Brophy, formerly of Aitkin County, has been charged with 13 felony counts related to pornographic material involving minors.

Brophy, who now lives in South Carolina, has been summoned to answer the charges in Aitkin County Court.

This is following a investigation conducted by the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office and the MN BCA started in March, 2022.

The investigation was completed with the complaints and signed by Judge Hermerding on January 3, 2024.

A statement from the Aitkin County Sheriff’s office stated in part, “that criminal behavior related to
minors will not be tolerated and if you suspect that children are being abused or exploited to
report the incidents immediately to your local law enforcement agency.”
