Former “Biggest Loser” contestant walks in Saint Fennessy 4k
The annual Saint Fennessy 4k was held in Hermantown Saturday, March 16.
Participants lined up at Skyline Games and Social all dressed in green to start the untimed race off.
This year, one of the participants was Adrian Gledhill.
Gledhill was a former contestant on the reality show “The Biggest Loser” who told us that walking now plays a big role in keeping the weight off.
“I’ve been overweight my entire life, and when I was about 22, I ended up on the show ‘The Biggest Loser’ to lose my weight.”, explained Gledhill, “I was 227. I got down to the 160s. Then, unfortunately, like so many of us contestants, I immediately gained it right back. It wasn’t the ticket for me.”
“Throughout the years, we’ve actually lost a lot of Biggest Losers. Most of us gained our weight back and obesity is very serious,” Gledhill continued.
However, in the past year, Gledhill said she has found her “ticket”; walking and eating more meat.
“I’ve switched from running to walking,” she said. “I find it so sustainable. So, I am the walker in all these races and I bring my kids too.”
“I have been walking between six and ten miles, 5 to 6 days a week. So, this’ll be a breeze. It’ll be a blast.”
Gledhill also shared her message that “It’s never too late. Don’t give up.”
