Four injured in Duluth car accident

Authorities in Duluth responded to a two-vehicle accident in the early afternoon hours of April 2.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Dodge Minivan was heading southbound in the left lane of Interstate 35 at 40th Avenue West, being followed by a Chevrolet pickup. When changing lanes, the van lost control, and went back into the original lane, colliding with the truck, and ended up in the right ditch.

Airbags deployed in both vehicles, according to the state patrol reports, and all four occupants, two in each vehicle, were taken to nearby hospitals to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The report says that roads were impacted by snow and ice at the time of the accident.

Responding agencies include the Minnesota State Patrol, Duluth Police and Fire Departments, as well as the Mayo Clinic ambulance.
