Four-year-old dies after ATV accident

Hibbing Police say a four-year-old boy has died after an ATV accident in a gravel pit over the weekend.

On Saturday, officers were dispatched to the area between the Hull Rust Mine View and the Mesabi Bike Trail. Police say a 28-year-old man was driving the ATV with two young children. They went over a hall and the ATV flipped over. The driver and a seven-year-old boy sustained non-life threatening injuries. The four-year-old boy was taken to the Fairview Range Hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries.

Police say there were no signs of impairment, and all three on the ATV were wearing helmets. The incident remains under investigation.
