Update: Friday fire in McDavitt Township

On Friday November 8th, 2024 around 10:30pm, St. Louis County Dispatch received a 911 call for a mobile home on fire in McDavitt Township.

St. Louis County Deputies and local Fire Departments responded to the scene. It was reported the home did not have power and it is unknown if the wood stove was lit. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the MN State Fire Marshal’s Office. 

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the McDavitt Fire Department, Clinton Fire Department, Cherry Fire Department, and Central Lakes Fire Department. 

At around 9:40 pm on Friday, a mobile home fire was reported in the 8400 block of Zim Road in McDavitt Township, which is about 15 miles south of Eveleth.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, the home was unoccupied. The homeowner was down the road, saw the flames, and called their brother who called 911. There is no power to the home.

McDavitt, Cherry, Clinton, and Central Lakes fire departments responded to the scene according to the Northland FireWire. No injuries were reported, and the mobile home is a complete loss.
