Friends of the Lakewalk help clean up

Friends of the Lakewalk held its biennial clean up Wednesday afternoon. They focused specifically on sections near Brighton Beach and the connection into Lester Park. UMDs enrollment management team and community members came out to help. In total, about 40 people showed up to spruce up the community they love for spring.

Friends of the Lakewalk President, Jim Topie, told WDIO, “People greatly appreciate Duluth and how clean we are here, but it takes a community to keep it that way.”

Madi Lamia of Duluth’s admissions team added, “Duluth is obviously a beautiful area, right? That’s why we’re all up here and we love this area. The lake is gorgeous. So, anything that I can do to be a part of this- plus getting to do it with my coworkers, getting to do it with my team, makes it even more amazing.”
