Frost Advisory for the region; Freeze Warning for some

Autumn is in the air as Northlanders woke to temperatures in the 30s and 40s Friday morning. According to the National Weather Service, the coldest temperature this morning was 29 degrees reported in Cook County.

Temperatures will be even colder tonight for a wider portion of the region. A Frost Advisory will be in effect for much of the region with temperatures dropping as low as 34 degrees.

A Freeze Warning is being issued for portions of Northern Cook and Lake County for tonight. Temperatures as low as 30 are expected. This warning includes the Boundary Waters and north of the Gunflint Trail.

The Frost Advisory will go into effect at 11 p.m. through 8 a.m. Saturday for Northern Aitkin, Koochiching, Itasca, Carlton, St. Louis, Cook and Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, a Frost Advisory will be in place starting at 2 a.m. for Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Iron, Price, Sawyer, and Washburn Counties.

If you still have outdoor plants and vegetables, you may want to cover them to protect them from frost.
