Goodbye Skype and hello Microsoft Teams

The platform you may have had your first video call on, Skype, is set to retire in May of 2025 according to an announcement from Microsoft on Friday February 28th.

The announcement says they are making the choice to retire Skype so they can focus their efforts on Microsoft Teams.

The announcement stated: “With Teams, users have access to many of the same core features they use in Skype, such as one-on-one calls and group calls, messaging, and file sharing. Additionally, Teams offers enhanced features like hosting meetings, managing calendars, and building and joining communities for free. “

If you are a Skype user, you can log in to Microsoft Teams with your Skype username and password.
