Gordy’s Hi-Hat opens for the season in Cloquet
The Cloquet restaurant Gordy’s Hi-Hat reopened for their 64th season Wednesday morning, March 20.
Gordy’s was originally started by Duluthians Gordy and Marilyn Lundquist back in 1960 and they say their classic American food has remained since then.
This is the first year we are opening up without either of my grandparents,” explained Sever Lundquist, Gordy and Marilyn’s grandson. “Gordy passed away a couple years ago and then my grandma Marilyn, who founded the place alongside Gordy, she passed away this winter. So, we’re just really thankful for the memories that people are sharing with us and the customers that they got to know over the last 65 years.”
Fans of the restaurant were already lined up on opening day to get their burgers, malts, and onion rings.
Gordy’s Hi-Hat is located at 415 Sunnyside Drive, Cloquet, MN.
