Great Lakes Aquarium celebrates otters' 12th birthday
Otters Agate and Ore, the Great Lakes Aquarium’s two female North American river otters celebrated their 12th birthday.
The aquarium hosts a celebration for the pair every year, where kids can come enjoy cake, do arts and crafts, and spend some time with the animals.
“It’s just so fun seeing all the kids because they have so many crafts and other things they can work on throughout the day, and they make the otters birthday cards so at the end of the day I get to sit and read and look at the drawings the kids made,” said Natalie Riemer, curator of terrestrial animals at the aquarium.
Their cards get hung by the exhibit, so Agate and Ore can admire the artwork and feel the love from their visitors.
