Grocery price comparison

Grocery price comparison

Consumers are concerned about their grocery bills when they go to the supermarket – especially for the everyday staples. Just how different are the prices at various stores around Duluth?

In order to properly gauge the discrepancies, a baseline list of essentials was created. It includes a gallon of whole milk, a pound of chicken breasts, a pound of white bread, a pound of bananas, and a dozen eggs. The average regional price of these goods – including Duluth tax – is $20.03.

At SuperOne, these items totaled $19.33, at Cub they were $21.35, and at Aldi, they came out to $12.49.

With the cost of eggs skyrocketing at the beginning of 2025, it’s no surprise that customers are concerned about the cost of their groceries. Hopefully this side-by-side comparison can offer shoppers some peace of mind when they head to the store next time.
