Duluth Harbor Monsters celebrate inaugural championship season with Duluth Mayor Roger Reinert

Mayor Roger Reinert celebrated the Duluth Harbor Monsters’ inaugural season by welcoming the team to City Hall to issue a proclamation declaring August 15th as Harbor Monster’s day in the Mayor Reception room Thursday August 15th.

Duluth mayor Roger Reinert also presented a mayoral coin to Harbor Monsters Coach Tony O’Neil for his impact on the Duluth community as the Harbor Monsters Coach and as the owner and head chef of the Jamrock Cultural Restaurant in Duluth.

This celebration comes after the inaugural season of the Duluth Harbor Monsters ending in a championship title at ArenaMania.

“This is an opportunity to celebrate not just an inaugural season of the Harbor Monsters Arena football team here in Duluth, but a championship inaugural season.” Said Duluth Mayor Roger Reinert

Players spoke on their season and time in Duluth.

“Duluth has been more than just a second home for me.” Said defensive end Lovell Spruce. “absolutely fabulous town, lots of experiences and definitely had the greatest time playing football I’ve ever had in my life.”

Looking forward to their next season, Duluth Harbor Monsters Coach Tony O’Neil was optimistic.

“Oh, we want all the smoke,” said Coach Tony O’Neil. “This is a dynasty we’re trying to establish here. Our lease in this league is going to be for the next two and a half years and then we are looking to move up. We need to make a statement over the next two seasons “
