Harbor Table set to bring a fine dining experience to Washburn
Up in Washburn, Wisconsin, a group of friends is set to open the only fine dining experience in the entire town.
Catlyn Janes, Kirsten McAuliffe, and Nate Leplavy have spent a long time in the service industry and now they get to take the reigns, opening their restaurant Harbor Table.
“We all have our individual skills, but when you put those all together I think it’s a perfect match. And it’s awesome to work with family and friends,” says Nate.
Harbor Table will replace the town’s old event center, offering up a lot of space for all kinds of customers.
Catlyn says, “Back in the 1980’s it was built. And then it was the steak pit for over 30 years. And then it was changed over to the event center and now we are bringing back the food.”
Speaking of food, Head Chef Nate Laplavy says Harbor Table will be fancy fine dining but in a more casual atmosphere. Cooking up steak, pasta, and seafood. They’ll be using as many local ingredients as possible.
The team also had to put a lot of work into their kitchen too. Laplavy says, “Yeah there was no kitchen, so it’s starting form the ground up. Everything is brand new so for me it’s super exciting to design and create it myself.”
Located directly next to a marina and hotel, and not too far from the local theater, the team is ready for some pretty hungry customers. Kirsten says there aren’t a lot of places in Washburn. “The whole local area honestly, we are kind of missing a fine dining place to go,” she says.
Harbor Table doesn’t have a set opening date quite yet but their bar and lounge is open! They look to open the restaurant on the third week of October. You can follow their Facebook page here.
