Help prepare for Thanksgiving with CHUM

In preparation for thanksgiving this week, CHUM is offering food boxes of meals and food supplies to people. On Monday morning, November 25, 2024, they opened the doors of the Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church to invite people to get food boxes.

They handed out 100 boxes for their CHUM Thanksgiving boxes that will have turkeys, stuffing, vegetables, fruit, potatoes, pies and milk. These boxes are going quick on a first come first serve basis. They did 100 on Monday, then 200 on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

April Ledoux, the Director of Distribution Services, alongside other members of chum have prepared for weeks to provide these boxes of food for the community. As people from the community came with carts, cars, and bags waiting in line amongst the snow. They brought people in at 9:30am and then had doors open for the boxes at 10am. April shared why CHUM does this for the community.

“The importance is just reaching out to the community and giving them and providing them a Thanksgiving dinner because it’s expensive. Things have doubled up in prices and just being able to serve and help our community out and have them have the best Thanksgiving dinner that they can on their table.”

Wednesday’s box distribution will once again open doors at 9:30am and start at 10am. But it will be a different location. Wednesday will be at 120 N. 1st Avenue West right at CHUM’s downtown location.
