Hermantown woman faces seven felonies for alleged theft from PTO

A development in the investigation into theft of money from the Hermantown PTO .
Seven felony charges have been filed against a Hermantown woman, Trista Swanson.
The criminal complaint said she was the treasurer of the PTO.
Back in September, other leaders from the PTO noticed problems with their accounts.
According to the complaint, Swanson took over $100,000 from July of 2020 to September of 2022.
She reportedly told the PTO she and her husband intended to pay the money back.
A court hearing is scheduled for August 21st.
