Hibbing City Council to meet Monday to discuss potential new site for HRA housing project

Now to the latest on the push back on a proposed housing project in Hibbing. The city council is holding a special meeting on Monday to discuss it.

The plan on the table is for the affordable housing project to be built at Cobb Cook Park.

Neighbors and residents have been calling for a change, saying they want to preserve this green space. And they may get their wish.

In a statement, the city says they and the HRA are now assessing an undeveloped, city-owned parcel in the 4000 block of 5th Avenue West.

They have until July 12th to apply for state funding for the project, which is needed to replace the aging Greenhaven Apartments.
