Holiday markets deck Duluth with local gifts

From 10AM to 5PM on Saturday, December 14th, two holiday markets gave Duluth shoppers the opportunity to check items off their holiday shopping lists and support local businesses.

In Lincoln Park, local businesses got together to host the Lincoln Park Holiday Market. The market inspired shoppers to buy local for the holidays – showcasing not only permanent storefronts but also small artists and vendors from around the Northland.

At the Depot, over sixty vendors showcased both edible and non-edible goods, ensuring there was something for everyone. The Depot Great Hall Holiday Market was packed with shoppers looking for local businesses to support.

“What makes this market so special, I would say, for one thing, is the building. We have just a very, very unique building here at the depot. It’s a re-appropriated train station, so lots of unique architecture, and looks and crannies. People love to explore it. And then our local business community, crafters, artists, artisans, food makers, all of them bring their own unique flair to this event,” said Mary Tennis, director of the Depot.

The Great Hall Holiday Market is an annual event at the Depot that is run through volunteer help, to learn how to volunteer at the Depot or book the Great Hall, click here.
