Duluth Police are investigating a shooting incident involving a BB gun at the home of the now-former Pastor of Revive City Church of Duluth.
Police responded around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday to the report of a shooting. WDIO has confirmed the residence is the home of October Allen and her husband Ron Allen, the former Pastor at Revive City Church of Duluth. Allen recently resigned amidst renewed controversy involving his past criminal convictions.
Mattie Hjelseth, Public Information Office Officer with the Duluth Police Department, said officers quickly responded to the scene and discovered two shattered windows.
“Officers continued to investigate the incident and determined that there wasn’t any evidence to indicate a drive by shooting,” said Hjelseth.
Police say the damage was likely caused by a BB gun and that the incident remains under investigation.
“[Whether] the damage was done by a drive by or someone standing outside, our windows were shot out,” said October Allen in a statement to WDIO. “[Whether] it was with a BB Gun or a popsicle stick, we were the target, and our windows being shot out and our safety endangered. And it was not done by us!”
Ronald Allen had previously been convicted in 2001 on three counts of criminal sexual conduct. Court documents say he had sexual relations with two 13-year-old girls when he was 35 years old. Both incidents took place in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
