Hoops Brewing hosts Mentor North

Mentor North and Hoops Brewing partnered to host a press conference to talk about the importance of mentoring on Monday night. The event was the kick-off to a month-long fundraising campaign to support Mentor North and their clients. Representatives from Mentor North discussed the importance of being a mentor in the northland community. They also talked about the current shortage of mentors in the area. Currently, there are 101 youth being served by Mentor North. 68 of those youth have been matched with a mentor and 33 waiting to be matched.

Dave Hoops, the owner of Hoops Brewing, attended the event and spoke on the importance of being a mentor and how it has impacted his over 30 year long career in brewing.

Mentor North is a nonprofit agency that helps kids between the ages of 7-14 to be matched with carefully screened adult volunteers for one-on-one mentoring. Mentor North says they strive to create a vibrant and inclusive mentorship community.
