I-35 work through Duluth tunnels to begin July 8

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will be starting a concrete resurfacing project on I-35 July 8 through the Duluth tunnels. MnDOT officials say motorists can expect lane and ramp closures throughout the project.

They advise to expect lane closures from 5th Avenue West to 13th Avenue East. The southbound I-35 off-ramp to Lake Avenue bridge and the northbound I-35 on-ramp from Lake Avenue bridge will also close July 8 for about one month according to MnDOT officials.

Following that, ramp closures will be required at Lake Avenue/Michigan Street on southbound I-35 in August. There will also be lane closures from 13th Avenue East to 21st Avenue East.

This project is part of a two-year project with concrete pavement repairs and bridge work in the Duluth section of I-35. More information can be found here.
