Improved medical care for residents in Northwest Wisconsin
Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center and Hayward Medical Center are now designated as Level IV Trauma Centers. The Wisconsin Department of Health recognized the improved medical care provided to residents in these two facilities.
Level IV Trauma Centers demonstrate how the medical center provides advanced life support, stabilization, diagnostic testing and other medical services.
Having access to emergency care is critical especially in more rural areas. A Level IV Trauma Center can offer adequate equipment, improved medical care, more staff members, and faster transfers for patients in need of a higher level of care.
“An incredible amount of behind-the-scenes time and effort from our Tamarack Health staff helped to achieve this important designation,” said Ashland Medical Center Emergency Department Manager and Registered Nurse Robyn Cicero. “This speaks directly to the commitment to providing higher levels of emergency care to our community.”
In addition to providing Level IV trauma care in the emergency department the Trauma Team at Tamarack Health uses this designation to further community education on avoiding future injuries and accidents.
