Iron Range fire departments battle late night fire

According to the Northland Fire Wire, there was an active structure fire in an apartment building in Gilbert at around 11:50 p.m. Thursday night. The fire was located in the 200 block of Broadway Street North.
The Gilbert, Eveleth, Fayal, Biwabik, Biwabik Township, Virginia, Lakeland, and Mountain Iron fire departments were able to quickly contain the fire to one room on the first floor.
Two dogs and a cat were rescued and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
