Itasca County Deputy arrested with DWI
Thursday April 6th, an Itasca County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was stopped by a Minnesota State Patrol trooper and placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while impaired.
Just before 10:00pm the trooper was traveling westbound on NW 3rd Street from Highway 169 in the Grand Rapids Township. Then they observed Mark Greiner, 53, of Grand Rapids fail to stop for two stop signs. After that the trooper made the stop.
Greiner was showing signs of alcohol impairment according to the trooper and after completing the process for driving while impaired, Greiner provided a test that showed he had a blood alcohol concentration of .12 BAC.
Greiner was off-duty and operating his own personal vehicle and has now been placed on administrative leave.
The Deputy was booked at the Itasca County Jail and released. The investigation remains an open.
