J.J. McCarthy set to undergo meniscus surgery

After being held from practice Monday, the Vikings are saying quarterback J.J McCarthy has a torn meniscus in the right knee and will undergo a procedure.

McCarthy was slated for increased turns this week with the first-team offense.

McCarthy, the 10th overall pick in the draft out of Michigan, had 188 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on 11-for-17 passing in his preseason debut against Las Vegas.

In a post to ‘X,’ McCarthy said he’ll be “back in no time.”

No immediate details about recovery time or the team’s next steps have been released.
