Joanne Johnson celebrated her 90th birthday and 28th year working at the North Shore Scenic Railroad Thursday June 6th.

The Lake Superior Railroad Museum and the North Shore Scenic Railroad celebrated Johnson’s birthday with live music from the Depot Jazz Quartet at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.

“It’s awesome. I never thought this was going to happen,” said Joanne Johnson. “I’ve had an awful lot of fun working here. It’s great meeting all of the children and families coming through here. “

Johnson started working at the North Shore Scenic Railroad in 1996, when the popular tourist line was just starting.
