Justin Liles: Another spring storm is on the way

Our skies will remain clear tonight as high pressure begins to push to the east. Another impactful winter storm will bring in another round of snowfall and potentially more ice to the area Tuesday evening through early Thursday morning. A low coming out of the Rockies will have sufficient moisture to work with as the storm closes in Tuesday evening. There is a good chance for 6+” of snow for much of northeast Minnesota, rain/snow mix, and a lesser chance of freezing rain for far eastern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Minor ice accumulations are possible for areas that don’t receive heavy snow.

Most of the region is currently under a Winter Storm Watch beginning Tuesday Night and lasting through Wednesday night. Breezy conditions, blowing snow, and low visibilities are possible as well. Travel could be very difficult. This could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Now, remember the location of snowfall amounts may change in the next 24-36 hours. Please continue to keep an eye out for any further developments.
