Justin Liles: Cooler over the weekend

A period of rather quiet weather is expected for the remainder of the week and into the weekend. A cold front is expected to continue to move south of the Northland. Despite the presence of a cold front, an ample supply of moisture, and another hot day; it doesn’t appear as if any storms will pop up. If they do, they will likely be in our southern viewing area through east central Minnesota and west central WI.
Temperatures are likely going to cool off heading into the weekend and become a bit more seasonal. This means temperatures will likely be in the mid to upper 70s around the region. Winds will likely be off the lake making shoreline communities much cooler and may keep temperatures in the upper 60s.
Late Saturday into Sunday there is a chance for some showers to begin popping up out west before spreading eastward during the day on Sunday. Rain currently looks sporadic and non-severe. If any does fall it will likely be during the afternoon hours. Cooler and seasonal temperatures look to stick around through most of next week.
