Justin Liles: Northern lights and beautiful weather.

July 23rd: Northern Lights Tonight

Northern Lights Tonight

A high pressure then moves in Wednesday that will keep us dry and sunny for the rest of the work week. Isolated showers will end this evening and overnight as a high pressure moves into the region. Temperatures are also expected to increase throughout the week from the low 70s to mid 80s, becoming mid to upper 80s over the weekend. Precipitation chances return for the weekend as well. Shower chances will be Saturday evening and the best chance will be Sunday evening.

NASA models are showing there is a great chance for a brilliant display of northern lights tonight . The last time we had a display with this ranking was the weekend of May 11. It was Mother’s Day weekend and the weekend of the Minnesota fishing opener. Tuesday night will be the best chance as the auroras nudge farther south and there will be less cloud cover. If you capture a photo of the northern lights, we would love to see it, send to weather@wdio.com.
