Justin Liles: Periods of showers and storms this weekend
It’s Father’s Day weekend and we’re looking at more showers and thunderstorm. Winds off the lake will make for some cooler conditions. If you are heading to the Park Point Rummage Sales make sure you bring a jacket. Rain and thunderstorms are expected Saturday afternoon and night. Rain fall amounts could get as high as 1” or more, especially in northwest Wisconsin through Sunday.
Sunday’s severe storms will depend on whether we can break through the wall in the middle layers of the atmosphere. If Sunday rain and clouds leave early than the Sun will have ample time to help stir up the atmosphere. If things clear out late then we are likely going to see quieter weather. Sunday night in Monday heavy rain returns with stronger thunderstorm Monday afternoon. With excessive rainfall there is the potential for some localized flash flooding through Tuesday.
