Justin Liles: Quiet traveling weather this weekend
High pressure has taken over and the sunshine has returned. Temperatures are below average by at least 10° as colder air settled in behind the lack luster snowfall we received because the system decided to shift farther south. Clouds will be on the increase tonight and take over all weekend. There will be a chance of seeing a few peeks of sun on Sunday. A couple flurries are possible tomorrow, with another day seeing high temperatures in the teens.
Through the weekend and into early next week, temperatures will steadily start to warm up. A small quick system may bring snow accumulations late Sunday into Monday, but uncertainty remains high at this time. Any snow to fall could make the driving conditions slick come Monday morning.
As we head into Christmas Day temperatures are expected to be on the rise and be well above normal. Temperatures are expected to be above freezing and could reach 40° by next Thursday. Some areas could see low temperatures stay above freezing as well into next weekend. Any system that comes through will likely be mixed precipitation thanks to warm temperatures after Christmas.
