Justin Liles: Thicker fog to develop this evening
Parts of Northland have received rain today. It hasn’t been a lot for the Twin Ports, but, across parts of the Iron Range to the International Border have stayed wet most of the day. The cooling down of temperatures as the sun goes down is likely going to lead to some heavy fog through midnight and linger through the morning hours.
Skies will likely be cloudy once again Thursday as temperatures remain slightly above average. In fact, we may not see a whole lot of sunshine over the next week and a half. Monday looks to be our best chance of lots of sun. Drier conditions will move in for the end of the week and into the weekend. Winds will become rather breezy this weekend. Another weather maker will likely tickle northern Minnesota late Sunday night into Monday. All eyes will be on the middle to end of next week with a large area of low pressure expected to dominate the upper Midwest for several days. We will continue to monitor the progress of this system next week. This could end up being the first doozy of the year.
