Justin Liles: Tracking some storms and the Northern Lights
Rain showers will continue this evening through part of the Northland. Numerous areas of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms are being observed in east-central Minnesota and across northwest Wisconsin. Localized rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected through this evening before the heaviest rainfall moves south of the region.
Scattered rain showers overnight and fog create a damp start to Tuesday when less coverage, but still scattered, showers and thunderstorms re-initiate mainly interior parts of the Northland. Strong east to northeasterly winds off Lake Superior will keep coastal and shoreline areas much cooler than inland locations tomorrow.
The northern lights are possible tonight but and even better chance is possible tomorrow night with lights nudging farther south and clearer skies forecasted.
