Justin Liles: Warmer through the end of the week with couple of snow chances this weekend
The large low we’ve been watching this week to drop a little snowfall in some parts of the region did indeed slide farther south. No snowfall has fallen, although a few flakes have been seen out toward the U.P. of Michigan. The low to the south continues to migrate to the northeast but will likely keep a few clouds hanging around tonight out toward Gogebic County in Michigan. Price County just to the south could still possibly see 1-3” of snow. Skies for the remainder of the region will continue to clear out tonight. Winds will be rather breezy heading into Thursday morning. Northwest winds will lead to temperatures being a few degrees warmer by the lake than on top of the hill.
A quick-moving clipper by Friday will bring us a quick splash and dash of a wintry mix. Temperatures will cool down Saturday ahead of a rather robust low set to generate some snowfall starting late Saturday night and lasting through Sunday night. There is a good chance for many parts of the region to see 3-6” of new snow. The key will be the temperatures as we may see more rain which would create lower snowfall amounts. Sunday travel for those who may be returning from the boys’ state basketball tournament may see slick roads Sunday.
