Justin Liles: Wet weekend
An area of low pressure will bring a chance of rain to the Northland this weekend. Storms are forecast to develop Saturday afternoon and move north into central Minnesota, especially near Brainerd. A few storms may be strong too severe with wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail up to ping pong ball size. Heavy rainfall is possible which may lead to localized minor flooding.
The severe weather risk will decrease during the evening although the risk of heavy rainfall and flooding will continue through the night. The Arrowhead may see moderate lake and terrain enhanced rainfall through this weekend. Conditions along the shoreline will be like what we experienced today with fog, mist, and cooler lake winds. If you plan on being outside tonight and through the weekend you may want to pack some rain gear and blankets.
