Justin Liles: Winds to weaken tonight & more snow this weekend

Most of the Northland had about 3-6” of snow last night. Then the winds took over and we saw gusty winds up to 50mph today. Winds will weaken tonight but temperatures will be cold and wind chills will be in the -10° to -20° range. The next chance for snow arrives Saturday mainly in the southern half of the Northland. The best chance for notable accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are going to be south of HWY 2.

Travel conditions will likely be slick Saturday, especially in the morning. All travel from Minneapolis to Duluth beginning after midnight into Saturday morning will be the worst time. Most of the snow will wrap up by Saturday afternoon. Cold temperatures are forecast early to middle of next week with highs in the single digits above zero to lows in the teens and twenties below zero.
