Keene Creek Park only accessible by trail starting Monday
Due to a closure of Okerstrom Road, residents and visitors will need to use the trail to get to Keene Creek Park in Hermantown starting Monday. Okerstrom Road will be closed just short of the entrance to the Park beginning Monday, August 12 as crews work on culvert replacements.
According to a City of Hermantown press release, Keene Creek Park will be inaccessible from Okerstrom Road until mid-September while Trout Unlimited replaces a key culvert initially damaged in the flooding of 2012. The will also work to improve the stream bed and habitat of the area.
Keene Creek Park will remain open to the public via the trail off Morris Thomas Road, which does not allow vehicle traffic.
Residents along Okerstrom Road will still be able to access their homes during this project.
