Pennies for Veterans coin drive underway at Keewatin Elementary

Kids at Keewatin Elementary are trying to raise $1000 to help buy a scooter for a veteran.

The Pennies for Veterans coin drive is underway at Keewatin Elementary.

Kids are trying to raise $1000 to pay for a mobility scooter for an area veteran.

The plan is to award the vet with the equipment at the upcoming Veterans Day program on November 11th.

This is being done in partnership with the Patriotic Kenny Foundation, which will supply the scooter.

Brandi Lautigar, the school district’s social worker, found the foundation when she was looking for a scooter for her own father.

You are encouraged to nominate a veteran who needs a scooter: https://www.patriotickenny.com/
