L&M Radiator is proud to employ over 20 veterans at their Hibbing location, including Randy Tupa.
He shared that the company supports veterans causes, like more mental health help. And a mission to stop soldier suicide is important to them.
“It hits home for us, because we lost one of our salesman that way. He was a Vietnam veteran. He had 29+ years with us. We miss him, and we want to get involved,” Tupa said.
The company recently donated $5000 to the Stop Soldier Suicide mission, undertaken by Dave Hardy and Frank Lachinski. Both are veterans who live in Itasca County. Lachinski will be paddling a canoe down the entire Mississippi. Hardy is helping along the way with his truck.
Hardy asked for L&M’s support, since he worked there for more than 20 years.
“They are like a family to me,” he said. It’s now been just over a year since he lost his son, also a veteran, to suicide.
Lachinski will start paddling on June 3rd.
