Local radio station celebrates 40 years
Life 97.3 celebrated their 40th anniversary Wednesday night. The event included an open house birthday party where guests could enjoy refreshments while hearing about all the accomplishments of the station over the past 40 years. Previous and current staff joined church and ministry partners to give station tours and help the community celebrate.
Guests could also hear from special guest speakers University of Northwestern – St. Paul President, Dr. Corbin Hoornbeek and Vice President of Northwestern Media, Jason Sharp.
The station first went on air in 1983 as KDNW FM 90.5 before changing to its current frequency of 97.3 in 1990. The station is one of 14 Christian radio stations managed by Northwestern Media Network, of St. Paul-based University of Northwestern.
