Companies with a big presence in the mining industry on the Range are spreading the word about our region out in Las Vegas.

They are part of the 2024 MINExpo, which takes place every four years. It’s sponsored by the National Mining Association.

Kristen Vake, Executive Director of the Iron Mining Association, said it’s been great making connections with people about issues like workforce development.

“It’s massive. But it’s been so cool to see so many companies that have a presence in Minnesota showcasing what they do, what they build, and how they support the mining industry here in front of all of these people. It’s a global conference. And I’ve seen technology that’s not even used here yet, in iron mining,” she told us.

Companies like Komatsu, Ziegler Cat, and U.S. Steel are among those out there.
