Minnesota State Patrol responds to fatal crash in Esko

On Sunday, December 29th at 2:38AM, Minnesota State Patrol responded to a crash on Southbound I-35 and Jay Cook Road in Esko.
According to the report, a Cadillac STS was travelling southbound on I-35 just north of the exit for the city of Esko when it spun out of control. The vehicle then went into the right ditch, striking a guardrail and overturning before also striking an overpass bridge pier. The single occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Cloquet Fire Department, Cloquet Ambulance, Cloquet Police Department, Esko Fire Department, and the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office.
