Public meeting on Hwy 169 construction plans scheduled for Tuesday
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will hold an informational meeting regarding construction on Highway 169 between Chisholm and Mountain Iron on Tuesday, May 7. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at MnDOT Virginia Headquarters building, 101 North Hoover Road, Virginia. The meeting is open to the public.
MnDOT says construction needed on this section of the highway includes pavement resurfacing, bridge work, and other improvements. The work will have an impact on travel.

Crews will start bridge repair work on April 29 on both bridges over Mineral Avenue/St. Louis County Road 102 in Mountain Iron. Drivers can expect a right lane closure in each direction on Highway 169 through May 14.
Then in mid-May, MnDOT says pavement work will reduce the roadway to one lane in each direction. Reduced lane widths and work zone speed limits will be in effect.
MnDOT says the construction on Highway 169 will continue through September 2024.
