Mt. Iron man sentenced for sexually assaulting an infant

Andrew Michael Nelson, 42, from Mt. Iron, was sentenced on Tuesday to over 26 years in prison for sexually assaulting an infant.

His co-defendant and girlfriend, Darla Jean Queen, has already been sentenced to over 22 years in prison.

This investigation first began in October of 2022, when someone alerted authorities about possible child pornography images being uploaded by Nelson.

Victim’s mother said her victim impact statement, “How someone can do this is beyond me.” Adding that she is grateful for law enforcement.
