‘Do You Think You Protect Me?’ is nominated for the Video of the Year award from the Midwest Country Music Organization.
The video features women from the Northland, and was filmed in the Northland as well.
During its official release last fall, the video helped raise money and awareness for the Native Lives Matter Coalition and the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault.
Emily Haavik wrote and sings the song. She told us, “It’s very exciting to have the video recognized, among such a talented group of artists.”
She added, “I feel very honored and very excited to see the mission and message of the video recognized, and hoping that even just the nomination will help more people to watch it, and learn about the topic.”
The video was produced by Michelle Truax, with choreography from Brianna Jennifer Hall.
The award show is coming up April 22nd in Iowa. https://midwestcountrymusic.org/
