Nett Lake man who served community and his country dies in house fire
A wake starts Friday night for a Nett Lake man who died in a house fire on Sunday.
Gordon Adams, Jr. was 66-years-old, according to his obituary.
Here’s the statement from the Bois Forte Tribal Council, which includes Cathy Chavers, Tara Geshik, Shane Drift, Travis Morrison, and Robert Moyer, Jr.
“On behalf of the entire Bois Forte Tribal Council and Bois Forte community, we send our heartfelt condolences to Gordy’s family. He meant a lot to our community and was so much more than a former member of the Tribal Council. He was an Ogichidaa (warrior), who proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He gave back to the Nett Lake community by being an EMS first responder and also played key roles for the Bois Forte Development Corporation—Gordy will be missed, but his contributions to Bois Forte and its people will not be forgotten.”
