New digs downtown for Miller-Dwan foundation
Moving to a new location can bring a freshness, a new outlook.
That’s what the Miller-Dwan foundation is experiencing at their new location in the Holiday Center in downtown Duluth.
They celebrated the move Wednesday evening and foundation president Traci Marciniak says the new space allows them to expand their operations, and enhance their program offerings to include a global mental health institute.
“Part of the reason that we decided that we needed to move downtown was to really increase our visibility because we as an organization and a board of directors have made a commitment to do everything we can to solve the mental health crisis in our region,” Marciniak said, adding, “So, to be able to have a space that people see us and is easily accessible is really important in our efforts.”
The Miller-Dwan foundation is the only independent, public medical foundation in the region and has provided more than 32-million dollars in grants to organizations throughout the northland.
